Terms of Service
The agreement between you and [OPERATOR NAME] for using Showcase.
Last updated 26 September 2026
What Showcase is
Showcase is a place to publish things you have made - music, video, images, apps and anything else - and to find work by other people. It runs as a website and as this Android app. Both use the same account and the same data.
Showcase is run by [OPERATOR NAME]. These terms are an agreement between you and [OPERATOR NAME]. By creating an account or using Showcase, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Showcase.
Who may use it
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. Every account carries a date of birth, and one that would make the holder younger than that is refused.
An account held by someone between 13 and 15 needs a parent or guardian to agree to it. Until they do, the account can read Showcase but cannot publish, comment, like, follow, save or report - and that is enforced by the database rather than by hiding buttons. The restriction lifts on its own when the account holder turns 16.
A date of birth can be filled in once and not changed afterwards. If it was entered wrongly, write to [CONTACT EMAIL].
You may hold one account. Keep the details on it accurate, and keep your password to yourself - anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think somebody else has got into it.
If your account has been banned, you may not create another one to get around the ban.
What you post stays yours
You keep every right you already had in what you publish on Showcase. Nothing here transfers ownership.
You do give [OPERATOR NAME] permission to host, store, copy and display what you publish, so that Showcase can do the thing you asked it to do: show your work to other people, in feeds, on your profile, in search, and in the Scrolls feed. That permission is limited to running and promoting Showcase itself, it earns us nothing on its own, and it ends for new displays when you delete the entry or your account.
You promise that what you publish is yours to publish - that you made it, or have permission for it - and that showing it on Showcase breaks no law and no one else’s rights.
What you may not do
The Community Guidelines are part of these terms and describe what belongs on Showcase and what does not. Beyond those:
- Do not break the law with it, or use Showcase to help somebody else break the law.
- Do not upload or link to anything designed to damage, disable or gain unauthorised access to a device, an account or a system.
- Do not try to read, change or delete data that is not yours, or to get around the permission checks that stop you.
- Do not scrape Showcase in bulk, or hammer it with automated traffic.
- Do not impersonate anybody, or pretend an entry is somebody else’s work.
- Do not use Showcase to send unsolicited advertising.
Points, XP, levels and shop items
XP, levels, points, achievements and the cosmetic items in the shop exist inside Showcase and nowhere else. They are not money, they are not property, and they have no cash value. They cannot be bought with money, sold, transferred between accounts, or exchanged for anything outside Showcase.
What things cost, what they are worth, and how they are earned can change, and items can be withdrawn or altered. If your account is deleted - by you or by us - whatever it held goes with it, and nothing is owed to you for it.
Other people’s content, and links out
Most of what you see on Showcase was published by other users. They are responsible for it, not [OPERATOR NAME]. We do not check entries before they appear.
Entries can carry links to other services - YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, SoundCloud, a repository, a live site. Opening one takes you to that service, which has its own terms and its own privacy policy. We do not control those services and are not responsible for them.
Moderation, and losing your account
Anyone signed in can report an entry. Administrators can unpublish or delete an entry, and can suspend or delete an account, where something breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, or where the law requires it.
We will try to act proportionately, and to act on serious things quickly. If you think a decision was wrong, write to [CONTACT EMAIL] and say so - a person will read it.
You can delete your own account at any time from Settings. Deleting it removes your profile and the entries, comments, likes, follows and saves attached to it. That cannot be undone.
Showcase comes as it is
Showcase is provided free, as it is, without any warranty. We do not promise it will be available, that it will be free of faults, or that anything you publish will be kept forever. Keep your own copy of anything you care about.
Features can change or be removed, and Showcase could be shut down entirely. If that happens we will try to give reasonable notice so you can take your work with you.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, [OPERATOR NAME] is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for the loss of data or content arising from your use of Showcase.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law - including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. When they change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. Carrying on using Showcase after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, delete your account.
Law, and getting in touch
These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY], and its courts have jurisdiction - except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim closer to home.
Questions about these terms go to [CONTACT EMAIL].
